An Illustrative Story About Trump

My visit to Las Vegas and my stay at the Trump International brought to my a story I read about Trump a year or two ago. It was by a well-known Internet columnist-pundit who writes under the pseudonym of a Revolutionary War patriot. He has long claimed to be a former CIA operative, and he is semi-mainstream and people treat him as valid. He was not Never Trump, but nor was he pro-Trump in the early days. I think he's come around to respect Trump.

In column I'm remembering, he mentioned his experience working in Las Vegas during the time when Donald Trump was trying to break into that city and build his tower. Of course he faced great opposition from the local powers-that-be who did not want the competition. One of the people who very much opposed Trump was a very powerful local casino magnate who is big in the Republican Party, and whose name most people would recognize.

As part of his efforts to defeat Trump, this casino magnate decided to form his own intelligence operation, to counter Trump, learn what he is doing, and find dirt on him. He is a billionaire who could throw as much money as he needed at this project. He hired many ex-CIAers, including the columnist, to build up his team of intelligence rockstars. They went to work against Trump.

What did find? Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Moreover, the columnist said, everywhere they tried to look, they found that it was like Trump knew what they were going to do in advance. In the end, Trump won and got his hotel (which is not a casino, by the way).

This picture of Trump is very much in line with Wictor's of course. These include the following points:

Trump has long built his own intelligence operation under his control. This operation is better than almost any government operation, including the CIA. Among other things, it is impenetrable. There are no leaks. Any leaks you hear about are, as Trump himself says, real but the information is fake.
