After the Supreme Court

Will the Supreme Court agree to hear the lawsuit from Texas against Pennsylvania and the other states? Will they rule in Trump's favor? Will they remedy be such as to turn the election to Trump?

On some level, the answer doesn't matter. The deeper question is the one posed by Wictor. Would Trump have staked everything on the decision of the Supreme Court (as Gore did in 2000)? The answer is an obvious no.

Some truths to consider that I think are inarguable:

1. Trump saw what was coming in the election in advance and had time to prepare (several years).

2. Trump knows that as President, ultimately it is his responsibility to save the country from foreign and domestic attacks.

In this court case, Trump will be going for 9-0 victory with massive evidence, much of it we haven't even seen yet (as it was not necessary in the preliminary lawsuits, where the judges refused to even admit any evidence). Five votes on the Court may be enough to win the election, is not enough for the victory he ultimately needs, which is to bring the nation out of this crisis into the sunlight again. If he can't get 9-0, then 8-1 or 7-2 would work fine as well.  But ultimately he needs more than just the core five conservative judges on his side in order to save the nation.

So no matter how the Supreme Court plays out---even if they fail completely at their duty at this hour---there is obviously another big card he is going to play. Wictor thinks it is the military. That seems reasonable.

A key date that is being mentioned in December 18. This is forty-five days after the election. This is when John Ratcliffe, the Director of National Intelligence, is to issue his report on the election. This may be the key step Trump is waiting for before taking the next critical step. This step would involve revealing the true wider plot to the nation, perhaps in a Presidential address. We would learn about the military involvement and such things as the Frankfurt raids (if those indeed happened). Trump would take specific actions in line with his previous executive orders on election security. Only he knows what he will do at that point.

Trump knows it is up to him to save the country. It is impossible for me to consider that he would allow himself to fail at this, given the time he had to prepare. Finally we are getting past the weeks of buildup to the critical days when this will probably play out. Of course the schedule is up to Trump. But he is a showman as well. No doubt he would like to give the nation a Merry Christmas if at all possible.

All of this is I've written is nothing new, as it in line with what Wictor and others have been saying since the beginning. Now we are seeing it come true. There is something uncanny about it. There is something uncanny about being right.
