Wisconsinamageddon

Who is the stronger? The Establishment needs to win tonight. It figures it can turn the ship around here. If they can turn it around politically, then they will also (they believe) have seized control of the message again.

They need to show the futility and folly of opposing it.

The message is the cultural vibe that the Establishment emits out to the people, telling it who is an Insider, and whom to take as a role model for one's own opinions and inner dialogue.

The media guides us that way. It has worked because it has given us great choice, within the system itself, about what to believe. In fact, much of the Establishment these days works as a giant "complaints department" of channeling grievances from the people into political and cultural expressions that are designed to buttress the Establishment itself.

In the end, it's still about deciding who is an Insider, and who is not. The Insiders run things. You do not.  Get used to it.

Things are built for stability. Many people, if not most, who think of themselves as Insiders in fact are more aptly described in the entire scheme of things as peons, but they they believe in, and support, the agenda of the people they themselves perceive as more closely inside the Establishment. The ability to perceive the agenda of Insiders, and the mimic and parrot it, is the key skill for rising up within the Establishment itself. One moves forward by melding to the feeling of what is acceptable, and whom to follow, and from whom to take one's cues.

But don't expect to catch up to the people who are already there.
