Not Yet Summer

The full moon came and went in stealth this month, with the front that came through bringing a respite from the threat of too early summer. It is the time of year when an afternoon walk may be pleasant and temperature, or it may be on the edge of hot.

This morning it was still comfortable to turn on the space heater next to my chair in my office, and to drink the warm coffee while I heated up, and turned my attention, eventually, to prayer. At some point there will be a "last day for the heater" and I will no longer turn it on in the morning. In the height of summer, I will switch to the rocking chair on the patio. The heater will remain turned off, used only for my coffee.

But not yet today. There is still a refreshing chill in the morning that makes it pleasant to feel the hot air.
