Very quiet on campus this morning, even after I slept in a little and came in later than usual. It is break between spring and summer sessions. The bagelry in the student union was just setting up, its light still dark. Probably best as I didn't need a bagel, but was seeking the comfort of ritual.
The only activity, besides the ongoing maintenance of the Cape Verde Pines, were little hints on ongoing multiple commencement exercises in progress. The parking lot of the performance arts center had signs indicating my usual entrance was exit only today, presumably for the increased load.
Next to the Union, a section of the metal tables was cordoned off and the tables had white tablecloths, in anticipation of the event. Nearby the stumps of the date palms that had been cut down at waist height were covered with a black cloth to make a small high stable, with flowers on top. A nice effect.
